一、美術班

本校於88年成立「高中部美術實驗班」,並於94年8月奉高雄市教育

局令成立「高中部美術資優班」,以發掘學生之美術潛能,培養具創造力

之多元化人才,除報考大學美術相關科系外,並達成適性揚才的教育目標。

本校美術教室設備完善,師資陣容堅強,歷年對外各項比賽經常榮獲

全國前三名佳績。每年定期舉辦校內外畢業展與藝術服務活動,善用緊鄰

高美館等在地資源,與大高雄文化發展密切接軌;建構別具特色的校本課

程,以『精緻化』、『資訊化』、『國際化』為本校美術班發展重點,面

對競爭的新環境。

二、第二外語班 本校於87年成立高中部「第二外語實驗班」,是高雄市最早獲教育部 補助開設第二外語課程的高中之一。 為因應國際化需求,除具備英語能力 外,第二外語能力已經成為一位優秀人才的必要條件。本校目前開設有日 語、法語兩種第二外語課程。另國中 部開設「日語社團」,培養對第二外語有興趣之同學,將來畢業可直升本校高中部。

三、數理特色班

102學年度起,招收數理學習傾向之學生,成立數理特色班,透過課

程活動安排,培養學生加深加廣之數理應用能力,並利用寒暑假開辦

數理相關營隊,激發學生潛能。

四、體育班

94年8月奉教育局令正式成立高中體育班,以培訓體育專長之學生。

本校舉重隊不僅是國內比賽的常勝軍,亦常代表國家參加亞青盃、世青盃

等比賽,甚至入選奧運儲備選手,戰績輝煌。

五、落實本土教育

本校於本土教育推展上不遺餘力,訂定每週五為本校母語日,發展皮影與紙影戲為本校特色,目前在美術教室搭設有皮影戲台;發展校本本土課程,師生共同進行在地文化生活地圖繪製及實察。

六、推展民主法治教育

為鼓勵學生參與學校行政決策,落實學生自治精神,成立學聯會,學 聯會主席由全體學生直選產生;為營造友善溫馨的學習環境,積極推展民 主法治教育、加強生活教育,各班級經由民主過程選拔班級美德大使、模 範生及孝悌楷模、並辦理學生參訪高雄市議會諮詢,以體驗民主程序;公 告每週生活教育注意事項並發行校園通訊。

七、熱絡的國際教育活動 全球地球村時代的來臨,引導學生尊重、了解、包容跨文化的價值,

並培養學生如何在多元文化的環境中與國際學生相處,以上是本校自102學 年度起積極推動國際教育的主要目標。藉由辦理日本教育旅行、參加ASEP 亞洲學生交流計畫、國際學生接待家庭及法國學校交流等活動,積極建立 本校國際夥伴關係,逐漸向校園國際化、學生學習國際化的願景邁進。

八、優質的學習環境

本校緊鄰高美館與柴山自然公園,空氣好且沒有噪音問題,校園周邊青山綠樹,美不勝收,距離市中心又近,是絕佳的讀書環境。高中部教學大樓為獨棟五層樓,教室內部設備齊全,目前每間普通教室都有閉路電視兩台與教務處連線;班班網路接點可直接上網,固定式投影幕,可使用單槍投影機做遠端視訊教學;每班教室有電腦並裝設窗簾及省電保眼日光燈,教學設備先進。

A. The fine art classes

The fine art experimental class in senior high school was founded in 1999 and was transformed into the Art Talented Classes in August 2005 under the order issued by the Kaohsiung Education Bureau. It aims to distinguish students with the potential of fine arts and cultivate multi-dimensional talents with creativity, which is not only for the enrolment rate of relevant art majors in universities, but also the education goal that all students shall be cultivated according to their characteristics.

With both fine facilities and great teachers, we have won many top three prizes in different kinds of national competitions. We regularly hold graduation

exhibitions outside the school and art service activities, taking advantage of local resource like the Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts and getting close connection with the culture development in Kaohsiung. Furthermore, we establish unique  school-based art courses that emphasize on simplicity, information and   internationalization so as to face the new competitive situation.

B. The second foreign language experimental classes

In 1998, we set up the second foreign language experimental classes in our senior high school, which was one of the first senior high schools subsidized and developed by the Ministry of Education in Kaohsiung. To meet the international needs, it plays an important role in helping students increase their proficiency in addition to the English ability. Presently, we also have foreign language classes of Japanese and France. Besides, there is Japanese Society in our junior part for students to cultivate students interested in foreign language, for which they can directly enter in our senior high school.

C. The special math & science classes

Since 2013, special math & science classes are set up and students gifted in math and science are recruited. Through the arrangement of curriculum activities, the development of students’practical ability of math and science are deepened and broadened; students’potential are also motivated through opening relevant math & science camps during summer holidays and winter holidays.

D. The PE classes

In August 2005, we set up the special PE classes with the approval of the Education Bureau to develop and train the physically gifted students. Our weightlifting team, tug-of-war team and volleyball team not only bore the winners in lots of national competitions, but also took part in Asian Game and World Cup on behalf of our country. With so brilliant achievements, they have been selected as the reserves of the Olympics.

E. To carry out the local education

We spare no efforts in promoting the local education, with Mother Language day set on every Friday and a stage built in art classrooms for the demonstration of shadow play. By developing school-based classes for local education, teachers and students can conduct map drawing and field observation of local culture life.

F. To promote the education of democracy

We guide students positively to participate in the school policy-making and implement the autonomy spirits of student’s affairs and activities. We have a student association and the chairman is directly elected by all students. To build a well-learning environment with kindness and friendliness, we promote positively the moral and life education, and have elections of Merit, Model Student, and Filial Model. We also allow students to visit the parliament consulting in Kaohsiung to experience the democratic process. We publish the weekly Journal of Life Education and issue Campus Newsletter.

G. Growing international education activities

With the advent of the era of global village, it is the main goal of our school to actively promote international education since 2013 that guide students to respect, understand and tolerant the value of cross-culture. And cultivate students ’ability of how to get along with foreign students in the multi-cultural environment. Through the host of international Japanese education travel, the participation of ASEP students exchange plan, the

H. A scholarly learning environment

We have a quiet atmosphere and fresh air, with castle peaks and green trees surrounded. It has beautiful sceneries and is close to the downtown of Kaohsiung, which makes the school a good place for study. The senior high teaching building is an independent five-floor building with fine equipments. So far, each classroom is equipped with two closed circuit televisions connected with the Academic Affairs Office. The network interface in each class allows the access of internet; long distance teaching and visual teaching can be realized by the fixed projector screen and computer-projector. Every classroom is equipped with computers, curtains and eye-protected lights; we have advanced teaching equipments.
